Thank you again to everyone who's supported Floppy Heroes!īy creating this sequel, I hope to give you guys an even better game, with much more content, shaped by your feedback.(Note: This is more of an introductory post, hence “Update #0”)Įarlier this year, I announced that I’d begun developing a sequel to Floppy Heroes. Once I've got some tangible content to show off, I'll be sure to create a blog of some sort so you can keep track the sequel's development. The old thread will still serve as place to post bugs and discuss the current game. I've created a new discussion thread here where you can post your ideas for the sequel. My plan is to rebuild the game from scratch, taking everything you guys loved about it and polishing it, expanding the gameplay, and using my experience gained from working on the current game to ensure a smoother and more stable product, with a better foundation for adding future content. This has resulted in the current state of the game, which, although not broken, has a fair bit of metaphorical duct-tape holding it together behind the curtain.Īs a result, I want to formally announce that I've begun work on a sequel! This is, of course, my fault as I had failed to plan ahead for the possibility of expanding the game. The problem is that adding some of these features, such as the modding tool released earlier this week, requires me to go back and significantly restructure parts of the code. I want to keep adding more arenas and equipment and features. Doing so has helped shape and grow Floppy Heroes far beyond what I had planned 16 months ago, when I first began working on what has become, in my eyes, a successful start to my game development career.įloppy Heroes is a game I want to keep working on. I want to preface this announcement by giving a big thank you to everyone who, throughout the existence of Floppy Heroes, has taken the time to share their opinions and suggestions.
